TORONTO, ON (October 1, 2015) – ole, the world’s fastest growing independent rights management company, has expanded its relationship with Canadian country music label Liberty Stone Records. The companies signed a worldwide administration deal that gives ole exclusive administration of Liberty Stone Records’ copyrights, augmenting their pre-existing relationship in which ole served as Liberty Stone Records’ distributor in the U.S. and Canada. The label is the home of country pop artist Scotty James, who won a Canadian Radio Music Award for Mainstream AC Artist in 2013 on the strength of his Top 20 single “Wanna Be Loved.”
“ole is happy to work with Liberty Stone Records to bring their artists to a wide global audience,” said John Ozier, GM of Nashville Creative at ole. “They are off to a great start, signing one of the most exciting young artists in Canadian country music in Scotty. We’re excited to use our artist development expertise to bring him and Liberty Stone’s future signings to new heights.”
“No one knows how to get wide international exposure for Canadian country artists better than ole, and we’re thrilled to partner up with them for administration as well as distribution,” said Liberty Stone Records President, Johnny Ioannou. “Scotty is an incredibly talented artist who is poised for a breakthrough, and we know we can achieve that working together with ole.”
Founded by music marketing veteran Johnny Ioannou and songwriter/producer Jason Barry, Liberty Stone Records is an independent country music label that provides recording, publishing, and artist management services for a select group of talented musicians and songwriters. Its first signing was James, who has reached #24 on Canada’s Emerging Artist Billboard chart and won the BellMedia Emerging Artist Award in 2011. His debut album, which features the current single “Toes,” will be released in 2015.
